Tom joined Wells Fargo’s predecessor, Norwest, as a credit manager in the firm’s U.S. Consumer operations in 1985. He was subsequently promoted to branch manager and managed consumer lending platforms in Wichita, Kan., and Springfield, Mo. In 1992, he was promoted to director with Wells Fargo Financial in Des Moines, Iowa, and in 1993 was named district manager, accountable for consumer lending operations throughout Oklahoma and Texas. In 1997, Tom returned to Des Moines to start up the operations of Wells Fargo Preferred Capital. He served in various executive roles and was named president of Wells Fargo Preferred Capital in 2006. In 2010, Wells Fargo Preferred Capital became a part of Wells Fargo Securities, LLC. Wells Fargo Preferred Capital (WFPC), an asset-based consumer lending group within Wells Fargo.
Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, is a graduate of the Norwest College of Commercial Credit, and has completed negotiations training seminars through the Kellogg School of Management. He is a past member of United States Marine Corps Reserve and attended Officer’s Candidate School in Quantico, VA. Tom has served in various leadership roles including past chair of Wells Fargo’s Central Iowa Diversity council and is a longtime leadership giver and executive sponsor of the United Way of Central Iowa.
